The “Canadiens Hockey Club” was founded on December 4, 1909 as part of the National Hockey Association, the precursor to the National League. It was in this uniform that, on January 5, 1910, the Canadiens played the first game in their history at the arena Montreal Jubilee They cap the event with a 7-6 overtime win against the Cobalt Silver Kings. This jersey, which was only used for one season, was worn by the great pioneers of the team such as Newsy Lalonde and Jack Laviolette, the first captain in the team’s history.
